Creating Individual Users

To create a user, complete the following.

  1. Launch a web browser.
  2. In the address field, enter the following URL:

https://exchange.bcx.buttonwood.net

      3. A login page should appear.

      4. Log in using an admin credential for your organisation’s tenant.  (refer to account activation email for details)

      5. Once logged in, you should see the Home screen.  

      6. Navigate to the Manage menu, then Users menu.

      7. On the Manage Users page, click the Add button. 

      8. In the Add User window, enter the following information.

    • First Name – First name of the user.
    • Last Name – Last name of the user.
    • Username – Username of the user.  This must match the potion of your AD/LDAP credentials before the @ symbol.  For example, if your LDAP credential is john.doe@internal.mycompany.com then the username portion is john.doe

Note – The Tenant’s domain name is fixed and cannot be changed by Buttonwood Cloud Exchange users.

  • Email – Email address of the user.

      9. Click the button to create the user.  An account activation email will be sent to the user prompting him/her to activate the account with Buttonwood Cloud Exchange.

Creating Users using the Import Feature

To create users using import feature, complete the following.

  1. Launch a web browser.
  2. In the address field, enter the following URL:

https://exchange.bcx.buttonwood.net

      3. A login page should appear.

      4. Log in using an admin credential for your organisation’s tenant.  (refer to account activation email for details)

      5. Once logged in, you should see the Home screen.  

      6. Navigate to the Manage menu, then Users menu.

      7. On the Manage Users page, click the Import button. 

      8. In the Import Users window, click the  sample CSV hyperlink to download the sample csv file for user list preparation.

      9. Open the downloaded csv file using MS Excel or a text editor

    10. In the csv file, enter the following information (one row per user).

    • First Name – First name of the user.
    • Last Name – Last name of the user.
    • Username – Username of the user.  This must match the potion of your AD/LDAP credentials before the @ symbol.  For example, if your LDAP credential is john.doe@internal.mycompany.com then the username portion is john.doe

Note – Do not include your organisation’s Tenant domain name in the username field.

  • Email – Email address of the user.

   11. Once the csv file is prepared, ensure the file is saved before continuing.

   12. In the Import Users window, click the  button.

   13. Browse and select the csv file prepared in earlier steps.  The Import Users window will display a sample screen of users to be imported. (see example screen below)

   14. Verify the user information and make correction as necessary.  Click the  button to start importing the user list.  An account activation email will be sent to each user in the list prompting them to activate their account with Buttonwood Cloud Exchange.

User account activation status can be viewed from the Manage Users screen or from the individual User Details tab.
