This procedure describes how to install the Broker virtual appliance into an on-premise VMware environment.
Before proceeding, please ensure that the Deployment Prerequisites have been reviewed and any pre-deployment requirements have been configured/obtained.
Note: The virtual appliance is configured by default to obtain its network configuration from DHCP. This can be modified via the console once deployed.
Deploying the Broker Virtual Appliance
- Connect to the vCenter Server Web Client
- Navigate to Menu> Hosts and Clusters
- Select the cluster or data centre where the Broker appliance is to be deployed
- From the Actions menu, select Deploy OVF Template...
- On the Select an OVF template screen:
- Select the Local file option
- Click Choose Files and select the Broker appliance OVA file
- Click Next
- On the Select a name and folder screen:
- Specify a name for the virtual appliance
- Select the appropriate data centre and folder location (optional) for the Broker appliance
- Click Next
- On the Select a compute resource screen:
- Select the appropriate cluster and host (optional) for the Broker appliance
- Select the appropriate cluster and host (optional) for the Broker appliance
- Click Next
- On the Review details screen:
- Review and validate the template details
- Review and validate the template details
- Click Next
- On the Select storage screen, select the following:
- Virtual disk format: Thick Provision Lazy Zeroed (default - recommended)
- VM Storage Policy: If applicable
- Storage: Datastore or datastore cluster to place the Broker appliance
- Click Next
- On the Select networks page, select the following:
- Destination Network: The network port group to connect the Broker appliance
- IP allocation: Static - Manual (default)
- On the Ready to complete page:
- Review the deployment settings
- Review the deployment settings
- Click Finish
The deployment may take several minutes to complete. Monitor the Recent Tasks pane in the vCenter Web Client to determine the progress of the deployment.
The virtual appliance can be powered on after deployment has completed.
