This article describes the steps required to configure AWS accounts within Buttonwood Cloud Analytics to enable processing of billing data from AWS.
Prerequisites
- Administrative access to the Analytics UI
- Creation of AWS credentials and configuration of S3 billing bucket, with the following details recorded:
- AWS Account Number
- AWS Access Key ID
- AWS Secret Access Key
- AWS S3 Billing Bucket Name
- AWS S3 Billing Bucket Region
Configuration Steps
- Log in to the Analytics UI as an administrative user
- Navigate to Accounts
- A list of existing accounts is displayed
- From the Add menu, select Amazon Account
- In the Add Amazon Account screen, enter the following details
- Name: Name for this account
- Account Number: AWS Account Number
- Cost Centre: Default Cost Centre for resources harvested from bills, which are not associated with a Broker Deployment
- Access Key ID: AWS Access Key ID of the IAM user that Analytics will use to access the configured S3 billing bucket
- Secret Access Key: AWS Secret Access Key of the IAM that Analytics will use to access the configured S3 billing bucket
- Bucket: Name of the configured S3 billing bucket
- Region: Region of the configured S3 billing bucket
- Click Add
- Access to the account is validated and bill harvesting will commence
It may take a while (up to a few hours) for bill harvesting to complete
