This article describes the steps required to configure AWS accounts within the Buttonwood Cloud Broker to enable workloads to be deployed, managed, and accessed in AWS.
Prerequisites
- Administrative access to the Broker UI
- Creation of AWS credentials, with the following details recorded
- AWS Access Key ID
- AWS Secret Access Key
Configuration Steps
- Log in to the Broker UI as an administrative user
- Navigate to Admin > Accounts
- Select the Amazon Web Services tab
Note: If the Amazon Web Services tab doesn't appear, ensure that the required plugin is enabled - Click Add
- In the Register AWS Account screen, enter the following details
- Name: Name for this account
- Access Key ID: AWS Access Key ID of the IAM user that the Broker will use to manage cloud resources
- Secret Access Key: AWS Secret Access Key of the IAM user that the Broker will use to manage cloud resources
- Description: Description for this account
- Rate Card: Select the appropriate rate card for this account
- Rate Card Discount: Any negotiated discount with the cloud service provider (range between 0 and 100)
- Tax Treatment: Select the tax treatment which will be applied to cost calculations
- Invoice Currency Code: The currency in which the service provider generates its bills
- Click Add
- Perform an account test and inventory
