- Administrative access to Buttonwood Central
Delegation Types
There are two types of delegations, which are described in following table.
Delegate Type | Description |
Cost Centre Delegate |
Cost centre delegates have permission to create cost centres and can themselves be nominated as cost centre owners. Budgets created within cost centres are limited to the cost centre owner's delegation limit. eg. Jane is a cost centre delegate with a per-budget limit of $10,000. The Buttonwood administrator creates a new cost centre and has nominated Jane to be the owner. When creating budgets within this cost centre, the maximum value per budget is $10,000. |
Budget Delegate |
Budget delegates do not have permissions to create cost centres or budgets. Administrators or cost centre owners create budgets and nominate a budget delegate as manager. Budgets are limited to the budget manager's delegation limit. eg. James is a budget delegate with a per budget limit of $5,000. The cost centre owner creates a new budget and has nominated James to be the manager. The maximum value for this budget is $5,000. |
Both |
It is possible that a user is assigned as both a cost centre and budget delegate. In this case, the most restrictive per-budget limit applies. eg. Jerry is a cost centre delegate with a per-budget limit of $10,000. She is also a budget delegate with a per-budget limit of $20,000. For cost centres which he has been nominated as an owner, the maximum per-budget limit is $10,000 no matter who the nominated budget manager is. For cost centres which she has not been nominated as an owner, the maximum per-budget limit is $20,000 when she is selected as the budget manager. |
