Appliance objects are mapped to virtual appliance images within each Service Provider region.
Similar to Linux or Windows virtual machine Operating System nodes, Appliances are used by system architects when designing in the blueprint canvas. As appliances are prebuilt images, advanced functions such as uploading file artifacts or execution of scripts isn't available like they are for a virtual machine node.
