Operating System nodes are mapped to virtual machine images within each service provider region. Creating operating systems objects allows these nodes to be used in the blueprint canvas.
This article describes the steps required to manage Operating Systems. Refer to the article Configuring Environment Operating System Mappings for detailed steps in mapping existing Operating Systems.
Note: A number of operating systems are mapped to commonly used provider images by default, however, it is strongly recommended that administrators create mappings using their own well-known images.

Creating an Operating System
By default, the Broker is deployed with a default list of operating systems. This section describes the steps required to create new operating systems.
This section details the steps required to create a new Operating System.
- Log into the Broker UI as an administrative user
- Navigate to Admin > Control Panel
- Select the Operating Systems tile
- A list of existing Operating Systems is displayed
- Click Add
- In the Add Operating System Version screen, provide the following details
- Name: Name for the Operating System
- OS Family: Select whether the Operating System is Linux or Windows
- Version: The Operating System version
- Architecture: Select whether the Operating System is 32-bit or 64-bit architecture
- Icon: URL for an image to represent the Operating System
- Click Add
- A status message indicates that the Operating System has been created
Removing an Operating System
This section details the steps required to remove an Operating System.
- Log into the Broker UI as an administrative user
- Navigate to Admin > Control Panel
- Select the Operating Systems tile
- On the Operating System to be removed, select the Edit drop down list
Click Remove - Click Remove
- A status message indicates that the Operating System has been removed
