This guide also describes how to perform a first-time configuration of the appliance once successfully deployed.

Buttonwood recommends using the Buttonwood Automate Configuration Workbook to ensure all configuration information has been gathered for the deployment. This workbook should also be updated with configuration information post deployment to reflect the as-built Broker configuration.

Procedure Steps

This section provides the procedures to deploy the Broker appliance on to a supported platform, and validate the deployment.

1. Install the Buttonwood Automation appliance
   • Installing the Buttonwood Automate appliance - Amazon AWS
   • Installing the Buttonwood Automate appliance - Microsoft Azure
   • Installing the Buttonwood Automate appliance - VMware
2. Configure and validate network settings
3. Verify admin access
   • Log in to the Buttonwood Automate Admin UI using the default Admin UI account
4. Configure a network proxy (if required)
5. Validate network connectivity
6. Run the Initial Configuration
7. Configure HTTPS certificates (if required)
8. Verify Broker access
   • Log in to the Buttonwood Automate UI using the default Automate UI account
9. Configure external authentication (if required)
   • Configure AD/LDAP authentication
10. Add users
11. Verify user access
    • Log in to the Buttonwood Automate UI using an added user account
12. Create a configuration checkpoint
