Problem Description
A blueprint which contains virtual machine instances has been deployed to a publicly accessible network (eg. VPC, VNet), however the virtual machine cannot be managed. When viewing the properties of a virtual machine, the Private IP address is listed, but the Public IP address field is empty.
Cause
By default, a Global IP Policy is configured to not assign public IP addresses. In addition, IP Policies can be configured at the Environment and Service Catalog level which governs whether public IP addresses are assigned and used for management.
Resolution
Check configured policies to confirm that they are set to assign a public IP address and that management should be performed via the public IP address. Refer to the article Configuring Policies for detailed steps.
